INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indiana state parks and reservoirs will have free admission on Sunday as part of activities to mark National Public Lands Day.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says National Public Lands Day is Saturday, and many of the state properties will have special activities that day to mark the occasion. The free admission is on Sunday.
The DNR says National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands.
Volunteer opportunities at Indiana state park and reservoir properties on Saturday include collecting wild prairie seeds for re-sowing on DNR properties, construction projects, gardening and trail cleanup. Properties also will be offering hikes, pioneer activities, crafts and live bird shows.
