Four Arrested Following Routine Probation Check in Whitley County

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WOWO): Four people were arrested over the weekend following a probation check in Whitley County.


Officers with the Indiana State Police Department made the arrests Friday at a home on Walnut Street in Columbia City after finding a meth lab inside the home as they were helping to conduct a routine probation visit. 


A subsequent search of the home under the authority of a search warrant led to the discovery of many more items used in the production of meth.  The following people were arrested and are currently in the Whitley County Jail:

  • * Jeremy Todd Guthrie, 43 from Columbia City

    • Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor

    • Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony

    • Possession of Two or More Precursors, Level 6 Felony

    • Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony

    • Dealing Methamphetamine by Manufacturing, Level 5 Felony

  • * Deborah L. Tait, 46 from Deedsville, Indiana

    • Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor

    • Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony

    • Possession of Two or More Precursors, Level 6 Felony

    • Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony

    • Dealing Methamphetamine by Manufacturing, Level 5 Felony

  • * Lynn D. Pressler, 34 from Columbia City

    • Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor

    • Possession of Schedule II or III Controlled Substance

    • Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony

  • * Alicia June Smith, 28 from Huntington

    • Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor

    • Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class A Misdemeanor
