INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Statistics reveal that Indiana is one of the worst states in the nation for infant mortality.
Hoosier infants are 25 percent more likely to die within their first year of life. State health officials say many of the deaths can be prevented, particularly by addressing problems with smoking and obesity.
The Indiana Youth Institute hopes to tackle the issue by hosting two forums in Indianapolis.
The events will examine the top causes of infant mortality and the state‘s plan for the future.
