Fort4Fitness By The Numbers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  A record number of runners are set to participate in the annual Fort4Fitness.

Organizers say a total of 2,754 signed up for the Half Marathon, 2,120 signed up for the 10K, 3,730 signed up for the 4 mile Run/Walk, 859 signed up for the Kids Marathon, 281 signed up for the Seniors Marathon, 37 for the Triple Crown and a total of 57 for the Double Play.  

In total 8,688 people registered for the Saturday morning races from 34 different states.  Also there will be 3 countries represented with the United States, United Kingdom and Sri Lanka.

The average age of the participants is 38 years old, with 1,745 of those participants being seniors over the age of 55.  

In order to make this event happen in downtown Fort Wayne, over 1,200 volunteers have been dispatched.
