Fort Wayne Woman Grieving Death of 2nd Son in 3 Years

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) – A northeastern Indiana woman is grieving the death of a second son in three years as she awaits the results of a police investigation into her youngest son's death.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jacob Beck was found dead January 20th along a road not far from a Fort Wayne bar where he had worked a shift the previous night.

An autopsy showed Beck died from blunt force trauma, but the Allen County coroner's office has not yet ruled his death either a homicide or accident.

The county sheriff's department is continuing to investigate Beck's death, which follows the 2012 drowning death of his brother James, who was also 29.

Beck's mother, Karen Whitmore of Fort Wayne, tells the Journal Gazette she wanted to die when she heard of her younger son's death.
