Fort Wayne woman charged in wrong-way incident on US 24

DEFIANCE, Ohio (WOWO): Police in Defiance County arrested a Fort Wayne woman over the weekend for driving the wrong way on US 24.

The Crescent-News reports it happened shortly after midnight Saturday after police got calls about an eastbound driver in the westbound lanes coming out of Paulding County and into Defiance County.

Police were able to pull 26-year-old Maria Gonzalez-Dominguez over at the intersection with Krouse Road, near Defiance. She made a court appearance this morning, where she was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to comply, reckless operation and driving with an open container. She was released on bond and is expected back in court on February 12th.

A passenger was also charged with having an open container and possession of marijuana.
