Fort Wayne weekend events, March 9 – 11

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – This weekend’s events feature many musical opportunities, such as a Heartland Sings concert at the Allen County Public Library, In the Mood at the Embassy Theatre, and the Surabhi Ensemble at Canterbury High School.

For sports fans, both the Mad Ants and the Fort Wayne Komets will play games this weekend at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Mad Ants vs. Delaware 87ers – Friday, March 9 @ 7 p.m.

The Andalusian Trial, Music & Dance from India, North Africa & the Middle East – Saturday, March 10 @ 6:30 p.m.
Critically acclaimed, Chicago-based Surabhi Ensemble performs the music and dance of Indiana, North Africa and the Middle East, found in the rich culture of medieval al-Andalus (southern Spain). The event takes place at Canterbury High School, and tickets are $25 for adults, $5 for students.

Heartland Sings: Celtic Landscapes – Saturday, March 10 @ 7 p.m.; Sunday, March 11 @ 2 p.m.
Enjoy a variety of vocal music selections with traditional instruments of Celtic heritage this Saturday at the Allen County Public Library. Tickets are $10 students, $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Beethoven’s “Pastorale” Symphony – Saturday, March 10 @ 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Watch the Fort Wayne Philharmonic perform Beethoven’s “Pastorale” Symphony at the Fort Wayne Embassy Theatre. Tickets range from $19-$72. The symphony is described as “more the expression of feeling than painting” and a reflection of the composer’s love of the great outdoors.

In the Mood at the Embassy Theatre – Sunday, March 11 @ 3 p.m.
This concert includes an authentic score of more than fifty unforgettable hits, including Chattanooga Choo Choo, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (of Company B), In the Mood, Tuxedo Junction, Well Get It, Lili Marlene, Bugle Call Rag, On the Sunny Side of the Street, What Do You Do in the Infantry, Over There, and more. Ticket prices are $25-$55, credit card fees will apply.

Fort Wayne Komets vs. Kalamazoo – Sunday, March 11 @ 5 p.m.
Cheer on the Fort Wayne Komets this Sunday at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Adult tickets range from $13-$28, children tickets range from $8-$19.
