Fort Wayne weekend events, March 23 – 25

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Spring is officially here and it brings several new weekend activities to the Fort Wayne area.

If you’re in the shopping mood, check out the Lucky Duck Children’s Consignment Sale or Shipshewana on the Road, both at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

For those looking for a new job or an internship opportunity, a Career Connections Expo will be held this Saturday at the IPFW Athletic Center.

Check out all the fun and unique weekend activities below!

Lucky Duck Children’s Consignment Sale – Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25 @ 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This shopping event features rows and rows of gently used, name brand clothing sized newborn to Juniors Plus, Women’s and Maternity. Shoes, toys, bikes, books, sports equipment and more will also be for sale! This event is free both Saturday and Sunday at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Mad Ants vs. Windy City Bulls – Friday, March 23 @ 6 p.m. 
Cheer on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants this Friday as they take on the Windy City Bulls at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. You can purchase tickets for this event here.

Coppelia with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic – Friday, March 23 @ 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 24 @ 2:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, March 25 @ 2:30 p.m.
In this romantic comedy, Dr. Coppelius has made a life-size dancing doll so lifelike that Franz, a foolish village youth, becomes infatuated with it. Admission prices range from $19-$44 at the Fort Wayne Ballet, Inc., 300 E. Main Street.

Cinderella Dress Day – Saturday, March 24 @ 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This event provides free prom dresses to local middle school and high school ladies who attend the Young Women’s Health and Education Fair. This event is free at the Grand Wayne Convention Center.

ARCH Fun & Free Lecture Series: Allen County Historic Sites Survey – Saturday, March 24 @ 10-11 a.m.
Held at the Downtown Allen County Public Library, Meeting Room A, this lecture will be presented by ARCH Staff. This event is free and open to the public.

Shipshewana on the Road – Saturday, March 24 @ 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday, March 25 @ 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
For the past two decades, Shipshewana on the Road Gift, Food and Craft Show has brought awesome and unique products to customers. Held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, tickets are $4 per person. Children 12 years and under are free.

Career Connections Expo – Saturday, March 24 @ 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Attend for an opportunity to connect with companies about career, internship and post-graduate opportunities. Four local charities will be in attendance seeking volunteers and donations, including Associated Churches of Fort Wayne, Girlz Rock, Camp Red Cedar and Humane Society of Whitley County. This event is free, but attendees are asked to bring a Goodwill donation to support one of the four charities.

Fort Wayne Derby Girls vs. TBD – Saturday, March 24 @ 5 p.m.
During the second game of the home season, this bout will feature a double header with the A team playing first and the B team following. Held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, tickets are $12 per game, or two for $20.

After Hours Breakfast Club – Saturday, March 24 @ 7-11 p.m.
Attend this event at Freemasons Hall for a John Hughes 80s movies event featuring a breakfast buffet, Bloody Mary and Mimosa bars, a DJ playing the ultimate soundtrack and more. Come dressed as your favorite John Hughes movie character for a chance to win a prize during the costume contest! Admission ranges from $25-$45, which raises funds for the annual Kohl’s Children’s Shopping Spree event.

Comedy Night with Bill Bushart – Saturday, March 24 @ 7:15-11:15 p.m.
Watch Bill Bushart’s comedy act this Saturday at the Fort Wayne Comedy Club. Bushart describes his brand of humor as “A bitter pill to swallow.” He has appeared on Detroit’s “Drew & Mike”; WJR 760 with Frank Beckman and FOX TV. Admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Fort Wayne Komets vs. Wichita – Saturday, March 24 @ 7:30 p.m.
Cheer on the Fort Wayne Komets as they take on Wichita this Saturday at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Adult single game ticket prices range from $13-$28, and children are $8-$19.

Fort Wayne Record/Hobby and Collectibles Show – Sunday, March 25 @ 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
This free event is held at the Classic Cafe Catering and Event Center, 4832 Hillegas Road. Find old and new toys, comic books, sport and non-sport cards, TV & movie memorabilia, models, coins, games and more. Next door you’ll find the Vinyl Record and CD show.
