Fort Wayne weekend events, July 7 – 9

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – It’s a busy weekend in downtown Fort Wayne.

The Three Rivers Festival begins Friday and includes countless family friendly activities throughout the weekend.

Tincaps baseball also takes on Lansing this weekend, and Friday Nites Live concerts continue at Jefferson Pointe.

WOWO has compiled a list of fun activities to do alone, with friends or family.

Helicopter Rides at Headwaters Park WestFriday, July 7 through 15 @ 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Enjoy a bird’s eye view of downtown while riding in a helicopter at the Three Rivers Festival. Each ride is $20/person.

Downtown MidwayFriday, July 7 through 15 @ 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Set up at both Headwaters Park East and West, the Downtown Midway includes amusement rides, face painting, pony rides and more. Tickets or all-day wristbands are available.

Three Rivers Open Tours at DeBrandFriday, July 7 through 15 @ 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Located at the DeBrand Headquarters on Auburn Park Drive, each tour is $5 per person and includes a $5 voucher to use on a $10 purchase at the end of the tour.

The Emporium at Three Rivers FestivalFriday, July 7 through 15 @ 4 to 10 p.m.
A tempting array of merchandise and services, along with hand-crafted jewelry, soaps, apparel and unique gifts. Find these shops at Headwaters West.

Friday Nites Live – Summer Concert SeriesFriday, July 7 @ 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Attend a Friday night concert at Jefferson Pointe’s Courtyard Fountain. Sugar Shot performs at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

Arcola Tractor and Truck PullFriday, July 7 and 8 @ 7 p.m.
Attend this special event at Branning Park. Tickets cost between $5-$10.

Fort Wayne Tincaps at Parkview FieldFriday, July 7 @ 7:05 p.m.
Watch Tincaps play Lansing at Parkview Field this Friday. Tickets range from $5-$36.

Lutheran Health Network ParadeSaturday, July 8 @ 9:45 a.m. to noon
Watch marching bands, classic cars, colorful floats and the WOWO team at the annual parade in downtown Fort Wayne. This event is free and open to the public.

Art in the ParkSaturday, July 8 and 9 @ 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Located at Freimann Square, 100 booths of extraordinary artwork and free live entertainment await you.

Intergenerational Wii Bowling TournamentSaturday, July 8 @ 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Get your team together and compete for prizes at the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreational Community Center. Teams must consist of one child (ages 4-14) and one senior (50+). Tickets are $10/person.

Open StreetsSunday, July 9 @ 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Downtown Fort Wayne will temporary close select streets to vehicles and open them to walkers, bike riders, roller skaters and fun activities.

Picture Your PetSunday, July 9 and 10 @ noon to 6 p.m.
This professional photo shoot includes a 5 x 7 portrait and reprint waiver for a $15 sitting fee per pose. Take your pet in for photos at the Animal Care & Control center on Hillegas Road.
