Fort Wayne weekend events, Feb. 16 – 18

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – This weekend is filled with musical events including: A Dynamite Experience A Musical Tribute to Black History, Old Crown Brass Band Tenth Anniversary Concert, Justin Moore’s “Hell on a Highway Tour” and much more.

Kid-friendly events include Learning Lincoln’s Legacy at the ACPL Main Branch and Once Upon a Tale.

And for those interested in learning a new sport, check out SportOne Parkview Icehouse’s 2018 Winter Games Spirit Event this Saturday!

37th Annual Fort Wayne Boat Show & Sale – Friday, Feb. 16 @ 3-9 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 17 @ 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 18 @ 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Attend this annual show at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Expos I-IV. You’ll find more than 56 exhibitors including Marine Dealers from Indiana and Michigan. Tickets are $10, kids 12 years and under are free.

Baroque Festival Dinner and Concert – Friday, Feb. 16 @ 6:30-9 p.m.
Enjoy dinner followed by a concert with Collegium musicians at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Admission is $30 for dinner and concert; $20 for dinner or concert only; $5 with student ID for concert only.

A Dynamite Experience A Musical Tribute to Black History – Friday, Feb. 16 @ 7:30 p.m.
For $20, attend this musical tribute to black history, both past and present. The performance acknowledges black history that was made in Fort Wayne. This event takes place at the International Ballroom in the IPFW Walb Union.

Justin Moore “Hell on a Highway” Tour – Friday, Feb. 16 @ 7:30 p.m.
The “Hell on a Highway” Tour is coming to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum this Friday. Tickets range from $25.75-$54.75 – buy them here.

The Legendary Trainhoppers perform GRACELAND – Friday, Feb. 16 @ 8 p.m.
The ‘Hoppers will perform Paul Simon’s GRACELAND in its entirety, along with Trainhopper originals. Food and drink will be provided by Hall’s. Tickets are $7.50, and all ages are welcome at The Philmore on Broadway.

Learning Lincoln’s Legacy – Saturday, Feb. 17 @ 9 a.m. – Noon 
Abraham Lincoln’s birthday is February 12, 2018. Come celebrate and learn Lincoln’s Legacy at the Allen County Public Library’s Main Branch. There will be activities for ages 9-14, including a behind-the-scenes look into the vault where the Lincoln collection is kept, a historical scavenger hunt, Lincoln movies, and a hands-on recreation of a real 19th century photograph. Admission is free and open to the public.

Once Upon a Tale – Saturday, Feb. 17 @ 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Celebrate the world of fairy tales this Saturday at the Botanical Conservatory. The “Once Upon a Tale” event features activities, games and crafts inspired by popular fairy tales. Create a knight’s sword or decorate your own crown. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 3-17, and children 2 and younger are free.

SportOne Parkview Icehouse: 2018 Winter Games Spirit Event – Saturday, Feb. 17 @ 11 a.m. – 4:20 p.m.
Learn a slew of winter games for free this Saturday at the SportOne Parview Icehouse. Try hockey, learn to skate, do a sled hockey demo and more. Admission is free and there will be raffle door prizes including a free pair of skates, public skate passes and more!

2018 Weather the Fort – Saturday, Feb. 17 @ 4-10 p.m.
The third annual Weather the Fort will take place this Friday at Freimann Square. The event is free to attend, but attendees must be 21+. Guests will enjoy live music, ice carving, fire dancing, curling demonstrations, live art and a beer tent. Food will also be available for purchase.

Comedy Night with Dwayne Gill – Saturday, Feb. 17 @ 7:15-11:15 p.m.
“A marine, a cop and a comic! Dwayne Gill is a triple threat!” Dwayne’s topics range from current events, men and women relationships, to the crazy situations he’s encountered as a police officer. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door – this event is 21+.

Fort Wayne Komets vs. Quad City – Saturday, Feb. 17 @ 7:30 p.m. 
Cheer on the Fort Wayne Komets as they take on Quad City this Saturday at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Adult tickets range from $13-$28.

Cirque Goes to the Cinema – The Fort Wayne Philharmonic – Saturday, Feb. 17 @ 7:30-9:30 p.m. 
Watch as Cirque performers execute amazing feats paired with musical classics from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Titanic and James Bond. The event features all new choreography and costumes. Tickets are $29-$72 at the Fort Wayne Embassy Theatre.

Trumpet Studio Showcase – Sunday, Feb. 18 @ 2:30-4 p.m.
Trumpet students from the studio of Andrew Lott will present solo works and varied ensemble selections. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 seniors, $4 for non-IPFW students, and free for IPFW students with an ID. The event takes place at the Rhinehart Music Center at IPFW.

Old Crown Brass Band Tenth Anniversary Concert – Sunday, Feb. 18 @ 3-4:30 p.m.
This concert will feature selections from over 100 performances. Old Crown Brass Band is an all-volunteer band that is modeled after traditional British Brass bands. Watch them perform this Sunday at the Auer Performance Hall at IPFW, free of charge.

Calligraphy Workshop at Wunderkammer Company – Sunday, Feb. 18 @ 4-6 p.m.
For $5, learn calligraphy skills taught by local artist Hillary Troup. All materials will be provided. This event is 13+.
