Fort Wayne Walgreen’s robbery suspect sought by police

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they say robbed a Walgreen store on Jan. 14.

The store at 222 E. Pettit Ave. caught the suspect on a surveillance camera at about 9:30 p.m.

The man was talking on his phone when he asked the clerk for cigars and cigarettes, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

The suspect left the counter to grab a six pack of beer. When he returned to the counter, police say he passed a note to a cashier that instructed her to give him everything or he would kill her.

The cashier didn’t take the threat seriously, despite the suspect having his hand in his pocket as if he were armed. She told the man no, so he just grabbed the this items he had and left.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP or 436-7867.
