Fort Wayne Teen Driver in LaGrange County Crash

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne teen was the driver of a vehicle in a crash that left himself and a passenger injured. According to the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department, 16-year-old Zachary Hughes was driving on CR 100 E Sunday night around 7:30 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at a railroad crossing and then after going through the crossing lost control of the vehicle, which hit a tree head-on. Hughes and his passenger, 15-year-old Abriana Sheets, of Kendallville, both suffered injuries and were taken to Parkview Regional. As of Sunday night, they were both listen in stable condition. Officers say speed was a factor in the crash.
