During a news conference, Rhoades expressed sympathy and support to the victims and their families adding, “The Church failed you. For that, I apologize.”

In a statement released Friday, Rhoades explains:

It is important for victims to see the names of their abusers made public “for all to see. For everyone to know the pain caused by these priests. It is [his] hope that by releasing these names, the innocent victims of these horrific and heartbreaking crimes can finally begin the process of healing.”

The list is being compiled and will be provided at a later time.

I wonder what Bishop Rhodes would do if this happened in this Diocese?
I seem to remember reading a story about the current football coach at Bishop Dwenger physically assaulting one of his players when he was an assistant coach and the Diocese and the Bishop stood fully behind the coach who assaulted the player and subsequently promoted him. There was a lot of smoke indicating a cover up that that this Bishop suggested. According to a recording that is all alleged to exist, the Bishop instructed the high school to not go out looking for the truth and Only ask people or former students if they come in to the ADs office or principles office.
