FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): You could call it a century’s worth of dryness.
According to the National Weather Service, Fort Wayne has only received about four-tenths of an inch of rain since June 27th, and it could get drier. There’s a small chance of showers and thunderstorms early Friday, but if no rain falls by Saturday, it will have been the driest period Fort Wayne has gone through in 100 years.
There is a heat advisory in effect through Saturday night, with heat indexes expected to be at or over 100 degrees today, tomorrow, and Saturday.
