FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A commission set up by Mayor Tom Henry to study public safety and racial justice issues will present its formal recommendations next year.
The Journal Gazette says that’s according to a statement from the Mayor’s Commission on Police Reform and Racial Justice.
Councilwoman Michelle Chambers chairs the commission, which was set up in the wake of nationwide protests against some high-profile cases of alleged police brutality against black people as well as clashes between police and protesters in downtown Fort Wayne this past summer.
The commission’s recommendations will include a focus on police transparency and race relations.

I feel the FWPD do an outstanding job. There is possibly a one or two off incident from time to time but I see all races representative and working together. I do not believe there is ‘systemic racism’ in the FWPD as there once was where I lived long ago… Los Angeles. Fort Wayne is ranked as one of the most livable cities in the USA and our first responders should get some credit for that. This action here is fine…talk about it. After all…most politicians love to pander and even gas-light, but in the end, will go home and swim with their swanky politic and big business pals and they will congratulate themselves on talking about any issue, knowing full well nothing will be done…just intended. That’s all they have to do to appease the masses of mis-lead lemmings.
Interesting that Councilwoman Michelle Chambers chairs the commission. Isn’t she the one who publicly stated the persons arrested for rioting/disorderly conduct (etc) during the ” peaceful protests” should be let go? Over time people forget but let’s hope not all is forgotten when the Mayoral election comes up.
Let’s not forget that when people are out there destroying other people’s property and setting firers the police have to step. and they don’t have time to stand there and ponder on how they have to careful on how they say something or do something that may offend the criminal. If the person is doing something criminally then he will be treated like a criminal not like mommy’s little innocent baby boy or girl. Damn I get sick in my stomach how these young kids want to act like they’re so tuff and do criminal acts and activities and then act like a bunch of tit sucking babies when they’re caught doing criminal stuff then they’re crying they’ve been offended or they got they’re feelings bruised a little bit it just bullshit these politicians needs to do they’re own job and and quit trying to do the police’s because it’s not them facing the danger these police face time the go on call.
And when your a victim of police abuse if power rember your the one who justified
lawen forcements right to break the law so they could enforce it as long as they only targeted the right kind of people. One day you will become somrbody elses right kind.
Then who fights for you
