Fort Wayne police investigate fatal southeast side shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police officers are investigating after a Fort Wayne man was shot and killed Tuesday night.

Fort Wayne Police Department Spokesman Chris Felton said just before 11 p.m., officers heard gunshots coming from Avondale Drive near Lafayette Street.

As the officers were arriving to the scene, someone called 911 reporting that a man was shot in front of a home on Avondale Drive. Once on the scene, officers found the man on the porch of the home, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers performed first aid, but medics arrived and pronounced the man deceased. He has not yet been identified

As of right now, there is no information as to what led up to the shooting, nor is there any suspect information, but police are talking with witnesses
