Fort Wayne Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO:): One person is dead after a hit-and-run crash in downtown Fort Wayne, and police looking for suspects.

Police were called to East State Boulevard near Crescent Avenue around 12:45 Tuesday morning after a motorist reported a man lying in the middle of the road.

After EMS tried to perform CPR, the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.

Investigators say the victim appeared to have been hit by a car, but no one stopped to help him. Police recovered pieces of a car's light or lens cover and are currently working on what type of make or model may have been involved.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.
