FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police officers are dealing with a rash of thefts lately.

The department released a map of all the thefts from vehicles that have taken place between March 1 and April 12 of this year. In that time period, 196 thefts from vehicles took place. While there are quite a few on the southeast side of Fort Wayne, the map indicates that the thefts can take place just about anywhere.

There’s not one specific item that thieves are targeting. Items range from purses, wallets, cash, loose change, stereos, and just about anything they can get their hands on.

That unfortunately includes guns and ammo. This week, a man grabbed a cache of ammo from an unlocked car on St. Marys Avenue.

Here’s a map of all the thefts that have taken place from March 1 until April 12 of 2015 and 2016. These are just the thefts that were reported to police.
