FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry is calling for an increase in city workers’ pay.

Speaking to the Fort Wayne Rotary Club Monday, Henry made the argument that the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour is “not enough” for a person to get by on, adding that he’ll lead by example by taking a look at the City’s wages.

The Club’s President, Jason Daenens, told the Journal Gazette he and other Rotary members found the Mayor’s comments “really important, especially for the population of downtown Fort Wayne.”

The topic could come back up during Mayor Henry’s “State of the City” address, which is set for noon on February 10th.
