Fort Wayne Marks $21 Million In Street Improvements

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Street and pavement repair in the City coming in to the home stretch for 2015.

Mayor Tom Henry and other city leaders were on hand to mark more than $21 million dollars of improvements this year. Thursday, they showed off work in Aboite Township's Haverhill neighborhood.

Bob Kennedy is the Director of Public Works. He says there's more than 17 hundred miles of sidewalks in Fort Wayne and, while sidewalks may not be high profile, they are a safety priority before they become trip hazards. He says they use three different repair methods to repair Fort Wayne's sidewalks.

Kennedy says the city is in the midst of a massive 6 year plan to repair, resurface and build neighborhood streets.
