Fort Wayne man shot to death inside apartment

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A 23-year-old Fort Wayne man was shot to death Friday, Aug. 5.

The Allen County Coroner’s office said Dominique Williams died from gunshot wounds. The manner of his death is homicide.

Police were called to the 7900 block of Winston Lane on reports of a robbery at about 6:10 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Williams unresponsive in an apartment.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe two male suspects attempted to rob the apartment and confronted two people inside. During confrontation, the suspects fired multiple shots.

The other resident was able to escape and call police. Police attempted to track the suspects with police dogs, but were unsuccessful.

Williams is the 20th homicide victim in Allen County this year.
