Fort Wayne man died Tuesday morning after crash near airport

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A 57-year-old Fort Wayne man died Tuesday morning after a crash near the Fort Wayne International Airport.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office said Carl A. Million died from blunt force trauma due to the motor vehicle crash. His death was ruled an accident.

At about 5:11 a.m., the Allen County Sheriff’s Department was notified about a two vehicle crash in the 6400 block of Airport Expressway and Coverdale Road.

Police say a red Chevrolet was traveling eastbound on Airport Expressway when Million attempted to turn onto Coverdale road. A blue Volkswagen struck the Chevrolet that was turning.

Million was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger and driver in the other vehicle were not injured.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Million’s death is the 22nd traffic death in Allen County this year.
