FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man was arrested after police say he sexually abused a child for years.

Court documents say Duque had been sexually abusing the victim for years and it started when she was 8 years old, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

The victim said the abuse included intercourse and happened many times per week, according to police.

She told police Duque threatened her so she would keep quiet.

When Duque learned police were investigating him for sex crimes, he packed his belongings and passport and left for a short time.

Police arrested him when he returned home, according to 21Alive.

Duque’s bond is set at $735,000 and if he makes bond, his passport will be forfeited. The initial hearing is scheduled for April 4.
