Police say Gaines is wanted for the October 2017 shooting death of Aaron Beasley. Police add that people from Fort Wayne traveled to Detroit to buy marijuana, but when Beasley tried to make the deal, he was shot and killed, with the shooters fleeing the scene.

Quantry Brown, 18, and Lamont Carpenter, 20, were charged with murder, armed robbery, and felony firearm in Beasley’s death according to the Detroit News. However, Carpenter’s case was dismissed by a judge back on January 25 due to insufficient evidence.

Gaines was in court for an initial hearing on Friday.
