Fort Wayne man admits to attacking parents

Fort Wayne, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man entered a guilty plea to charges of attacking his parents, Gene and Sandra Ruse, with a hammer, leaving his father dead and seriously injuring his mother.

According to the Journal Gazette, 51-year-old Scott Ruse plead guilty Friday in Allen Superior Court to murder and attempted murder.  Ruse faces up to 65 years in prison for the murder charge and up to 40 years for the attempted murder charge.  If served consecutively, Ruse could be sentenced up to 105 years in prison.

During the hearing, Ruse told the judge he was on drugs when he attacked his parents last July.
