FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Fort Wayne International Airport will host a race next month in an effort to raise funds for local military families in need.
The fifth annual Race for the Warrior will take place on runway 5/23, and will feature a 5K run/walk, 10K race and 5K/10K wheelchair race.
Our partners in news at ABC 21 report funds raised during this year’s race will benefit the Military Support Fund, which provides emergency financial assistance to local military and transitioning veteran families in urgent financial need.
The Military Support Fund usually helps families avoid eviction, with the loss of electricity and heat, and other challenges.
Race for the Warrior is set for April 27, and registration is now open. For more information, or to register, visit www.raceforthewarrior.com.
