Fort Wayne Business Initiatives Encourage Regional Growth

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana Economic Development Corporation is pushing a new initiative to encourage business growth throughout the region. According to the Journal Gazette, it's called the “Regional Cities Initiative” that's meant to boost Indiana's economy through public-private partnerships.

One local example is the Downtown Riverfront project, that continues to entice businesses throughout the region to start looking in Fort Wayne. Other companies have inquired about adding their business to the list of shopping and dining opportunities on the riverfront. In turn, more jobs will be added to the growing workforce of the city.

The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership has taken an interest in young, qualified talent to help build and promote the region, according to the Journal Gazette. The organization is promoting the “Vision 2020” plan that promotes young, qualified talent to the area- mainly those with college degrees.

The Partnership also worked with the Fort Wayne International Airport to add new routes from Philadelphia and Charlotte, North Carolina, with the hope of attracting new visitors.
