Fort Wayne Average Age Drops Below National Average

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The average age of a typical Fort Wayne resident is getting younger.

The US Census Bureau has released new figures showing that the average age of people living in Fort Wayne is 34… that's three years younger than the national average. Jake Pickett of the Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana tells our Partners in News at 21Alive that younger people are moving to Fort Wayne – and staying – because local leaders are creating more opportunities and reasons for them to come to the Summit City in the first place. He points to the city's arts and dining options as a couple of factors.

Recently Fort Wayne was listed among the top 10 cities in the US for college graduates to live in.
