Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control to host 29th Walk-for-Animals on Sunday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you’ve had a ruff week, you might want to sniff out this run.

The Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control’s 29th Annual Walk-For-Animals and 2-mile Furry Surry Fun Run registration starts at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at Franke Park Pavilion #1.

The Fun Run starts at 12:45 p.m. with the walk starting shortly after. It’s $25 to walk and that includes a t-shirt. The 2-mile Furry Scurry Fun Run is $35. The animal care and control encourages additional pledge collecting.

“Our goal this year is $30,000 to help fight abuse and neglect through education programs,” Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control spokesperson Jodi Hamilton said. “It would make it our biggest fundraising event ever.”

Prizes will be handed out for the top fundraisers. There will also be a silent auction, raffle tickets for prizes and vendors will have giveaways. For more information call 260-427-5508.
