Fort Wayne Airport Receives Nearly $13-Million Grant

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne and Allen County Airport Authority has been awarded a $12.8-million federal grant. Airport officals say it'll be used for a $14.3-million plan to rehabilitate the primary use runway at Fort Wayne International Airport.

“Receiving this grant means the airport authority can make the airfield improvements necessary to continue providing safe, efficient facilities for all users,” said Scott Hinderman, executive director of airports.

Construction begins next spring with an anticipated completion date of August 30, 2016.
