Former Teacher Pleads Guilty to Child Seduction

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A former high school teacher accused of having sex with a student last year has pleaded guilty to the crime.

29-year-old Paige Mostella made the plea Thursday in Allen Superior Court. With the plea, she'll avoid going to trial. That case was scheduled to begin Feb. 10.

She'll be sentenced in March by Judge Wendy Davis. If the plea is accepted, she's facing as much as six months to three years on each of two felony counts of child seduction by child care worker.

Mostella was arrested in August on claims she had sex with a 17-year-old student.

She was a special education teacher and assistant track coach at Woodlan High School in Woodburn. The age of consent is 16 in Indiana, but it's illegal for a person in authority to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.
