FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Former hockey coach, Michael C. Wenger pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in federal court.

Almost three years ago, then 25-year-old Wenger was arrested after the FBI investigated the means in which he shared photos and videos involving the sexual exploitation of minors.

Wenger filed a plea agreement in U.S. District Court and admitted to using a file-sharing network that allowed him to distribute the material. In exchange for pleading guilty, Wenger faces between 5 to 20 years in prison. If approved by the court, a second count of possession with intent to view the footage involving child pornography will be dismissed at his sentencing.

The Journal Gazette reports the FBI found videos and photographs depicting child pornography when Wenger agreed to hand over various electronic devices, including two laptops, digital cameras, and various DVDs. He also admitted to using the file sharing network for about a year along with 20 other friends who were also signed on.

Wenger had resigned his position with Fort Wayne Youth Hockey at the time of his arrest. He is known to have also worked with Bishop Dwenger High School's club hockey team.
