Former Finance Manager at PBS39 Accused of Embezzling

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The former finance manager at PBS39 in Fort Wayne, is under federal indictment. According to the Journal Gazette, 58-year-old Gail Waymire is accused of embezzling more than $130,000 from the local nonprofit public television station.


Court documents say Waymire made off with the money over about a three-year time period. She was hired in October 2009, allegedly began stealing money from the station in early January 2010 and then left the organization in 2013.


The United States Attorney's Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in South Bend, returned the following Indictment on September 10th: 

     

    Gail Waymire, 58, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, was charged in an Indictment with 20 counts of wire fraud.  These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  

     

 

The indictment remained sealed until Waymire's arrest in LaPorte County. According to court records, Waymire was released from custody after she posted $10,000 bond. As a condition of her release, Waymire must submit to a mental health evaluation and participate in any treatment deemed necessary and remain within the northern district of Indiana.
