FL Woman Missing from Fowler, Daughter Dead

FOWLER, Ind. (AP) _ Police in northwestern Indiana say a Florida woman has disappeared from the home of a daughter who was found armed and later died from a medical condition.
Fowler Police Chief Dennis Rice says officers are searching for 68-year-old Nena Metoyer of Dunedin, Florida, who had been staying with 49-year-old Teresa Jarding.

He says when officers forced open the door to Jarding's home at the request of her children late Wednesday, they found her sitting in the dark with a handgun beside her. Metoyer was missing despite the older woman's car being parked outside the home about 70 miles south of Gary.

WLFI-TV and the Lafayette Journal & Courier report Jarding was rushed to a Lafayette hospital, where she died Thursday.

Rice says there are no signs of foul play.
