Firework Fines

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): We’ve been telling you about rules and regulations for 4th of July celebrations, but what actually happens when you break them? You can only use fireworks on your own property or on someone else’s property if you have their consent, or on a special discharge location. Breaking any of these rules can result in a fine of up to $500. Purposely using fireworks to harm someone could end up with you facing six months to three years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Using fireworks to damage a person’s property could result in a year in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. And, a person under 18 who possesses and uses fireworks without an adult could receive a fine up to $500.
