Fire at the Savannah Springs Apartment Complex

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A fire alarm in northeast Fort Wayne at the Savannah Springs Apartment Complex lead to the safe evacuation of residents Wednesday afternoon.

Once Fort Wayne fire crews arrived at the scene on Goeglein Road, around 3:40 p.m., they discovered that the blaze occurred in a bedroom of a second floor apartment.  The fire was almost out, because of a sprinkler system inside the room. Although fire and smoke damage was minimal, both the involved unit and an apartment below sustained water damage.

There were no injuries and the fire remains under investigation at this time.
