Fire At Hall Aluminum Causes Heavy Damage Sends One To Hospital

A fire at Hall Aluminum products on the far east end of the city of Fort Wayne had 6 fire departments battling the blaze and more than 60 Fort Wayne fire fighters on the scene.  The fire caused extensive damage to the building on Moeller Rd near Adams Center.  The call came in at just before 5 Saturday morning; and because of where this is located there were not a lot of fire hydrants around.  Fort Wayne Fire Chief Amy Biggs says because of the great relationship we have with some of the surrounding departments they were able to shuttle water for them.  Biggs says they started attacking the fire from the inside but they had a wall collapse and had to take a defensive posture.  One fire fighter received minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.  The cause of the blaze at this point is undetermined.
