Felony Charge for Fort Wayne Man with Child Pornography

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man is facing a felony charge, after allegations that he possessed child pornography.

41-year-old Richard Byers was under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department after a State Police detective pretended to be a 13-year-old girl in an online chat room. IMPD tracked down an email that was affiliated with the detective's conversations with Byers and later, police obtained a warrant to search his house.

The Journal Gazette reports State Police uncovered a safe in Byers home, but didn't find anything illegal. Byers admitted there may be images of underage girls on one of the CDs that was stored in the safe.

On the CD, police discovered images of children between the ages of 6 and 13 years old. The children were posing in various sexual positions, including bestiality.

Byers is being held with a $2,500 bail.
