Feds Raid Property Near South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP): Federal, state and local authorities have raided a rural property near South Bend.

Special Agent Robert Nosbisch of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says officers served a search warrant at the house Tuesday morning. He says the raid was part of an enforcement action.

An Indiana State Police canine unit and officers with the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department and South Bend Police Department also participated in the search, which appeared to be focused on a detached garage behind the two-story farmhouse.

Nosbisch says agents finished their work at the house after about three hours but he declined to discuss the nature of the investigation or say whether the investigation was over.

He could not say whether anyone had been arrested in connection with the search.
