Federal Charges Filed in April Pot Bust

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Federal charges have been filed against Martin Medina. He’s the 50-year-old Indianapolis man that police say had more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana in a Fort Wayne warehouse.

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, he was indicted by a federal grand jury on a single count of possession with intent to sell.

The seizure was made last month as the marijuana was delivered to a warehouse located off Industrial Road.  The marijuana, which originated in Mexico and was transported through Texas prior to its arrival in Fort Wayne, was compressed and hidden in twelve large deep freezers.

Jack Riley, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Field Division of the DEA, called this one of the biggest marijuana busts in the area. “This is the most significant marijuana seizure in northeast Indiana in several years.”
