Father Sentenced for Battery of Infant Son

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A New Haven man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for seriously injuring his infant son.

Thursday 28-year-old Christopher Keisel was ordered to serve 20 years in prison, with four years suspended.

He pleaded guilty in September to battery causing serious injury, neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury and battery resulting in injury in front of a child. The crime happened last March.

Court documents say, the man's five-year-old daughter saw the three-month old thrown to the ground and punched. According to the Journal-Gazette, the child suffered extensive internal injuries and brain damage and its unclear if their will be much long-term improvement.
