FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A family of three had to be treated at a local hospital following a fire early Sunday morning.

The fire broke out just before 4 a.m. at a home on Colonial Avenue, located in southeast Fort Wayne near South Anthony and Capitol.

While firefighters were on their way, they were told someone may be trapped inside the house. When they arrived, two adults and a child were already at a neighbors house across the street, and it was later determined there was no one else in the home.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. The home had heavy fire, smoke, and water damage.

The family was taken to a local hospital in fair condition.
