Equal pay for women in Fort Wayne finally? Lucretia Cardenas has the story

Lucretia Cardenas, Editor Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly joined Charly Butcher on “Fort Wayne’s Morning News” to discuss this week’s issue:

1) An unequal playing field
Women of Indiana, rejoice. By 2086 – a mere 70 years from now – at the current pace of improvement, the average full-time female worker in the state will be making the same amount of money as the average male. In that, Indiana lags the nation, which will reach equal pay in 2058, or 28 years sooner.
2) City Council, GFW Inc.work toward agreement
Greater Fort Wayne Inc. is making progress working with the Fort Wayne City Council on issues that changed the way the city distributes funding support for the economic development group this year.
In years past, GFW received $250,000 from the city early enough in the year for four quarterly distributions. This year, it received an initial distribution of $125,000, and the second half of the annual amount was held so it could be distributed after the council and GFW worked out a mutually satisfactory agreement.
3) Hospitable conditions
More than a training ground for cooks and hotel workers, the hospitality and tourism management program at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne strives to produce graduates who can meet modern demands locally and nationally.
