Embassy Theatre’s Organ Shipped Off for Renovations

FORT WAYNE Ind. (WOWO): The Embassy Theatre's Grande Page Organ has been shipped off for renovations.

The organ is an Embassy original that historians ordered to preserve in 1974. The Embassy's head organist told our partners in News at 21Alive, it's a bittersweet piece the Theatre will lose for 8 months while it is renovated.

“After 26 years of good use here at the Theatre, the console's going to go away and get a complete revitalization.”

The organ is expected to return in time for the Buddy Nolan tribute concert next June.

The organ arrived safely in Indianapolis Tuesday evening and the entire project is estimated to cost around $68,000.
