Early Morning Fire at Protective Coatings

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Fire Department units were called to a fire at Protective Coatings on Birch near Reynolds. Insulation caught on fire after workers cut metal near the roof. Crews got to the scene just before 5 Thursday morning and found a small fire in the roofing material. Access was a problem at first because the fire was near a side of the building along railroad tracks. Crews were able to access the fire from below and above and put out the blaze. There was minor damage to a small area of the roof. No injuries were reported, and the fire was under control in just over 20 minutes.
