EACS Approve One-Time Stipend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A vote by the East Allen County Schools board has approved a one-time stipend to non-unionized employees.

The Journal Gazette reports 400 employees qualify. This includes teachers' aides, food service workers, nurses, secretaries, maintenance and custodial workers. However it does not include teachers.

Also during the meeting, the board discussed an agreement between the Board of School Trustees and the Custodial and Maintenance Associations, the EACS e-Learning Plan and more.

Some of the raises will go into effect starting January 1st.  The approved stipend ranges from $500 to $200, depending on how many hours an employee works a day and how long they've been employed. The overall increase will cost the district about $218,970.
