Dupont Road project moves to new phase

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A busy Fort Wayne road has partially reopened.

One lane of traffic in each direction on Dupont Road has reopened between Lima and Coldwater Roads, but construction continues.

The project to expand the road to four lanes, plus sidewalks, a walking trail, and an underpass for the Pufferbelly Trail, continues until 2019. The posted speed limit through the work zone is 35 MPH. The signalized intersection of La Cabreah Lane/Dawson’s Creek Boulevard and Dupont Road will remain a temporary All-Way Stop during construction.

Until it was closed down earlier this year, about 25,000 vehicles used that stretch of road every day.

Keep in mind that if you use Dupont you’ll see slower-than-usual traffic and occasional lane shifts.
