Driving 110 mph and No License Lands Fort Wayne Man in Jail

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  A 25-year-old man from Fort Wayne was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly driving over 100 miles per hour and for not having a valid driver’s license.

According to Indiana State Police, Londay Smith was traveling 110 miles per hour on northbound I-69 near the 312 mile maker, (Coldwater Road exit) when he passed a an officer also driving on the same stretch of highway. 

The officer quickly got behind Smith and pulled him over under the overpass at the I-469 interchange.  Smith was verbally belligerent and uncooperative. It was later determined that Smith’s driving privileges were also suspended.

Smith was taken to the Allen County Jail and preliminarily charged with the following: 

• Reckless Driving, Class B Misdemeanor 
• Habitual Traffic Violator, Class D Felony
