Dozens of Units Tackle LaGrange County Fire

HOWE, Ind. (WOWO): Crews from dozens of fire departments battled a fire through the night Saturday in LaGrange County.

Firefighters from LaGrange, Steuben, DeKalb and Noble counties in Indiana in addition to units from Branch and St. Joseph counties were called to a farm about 10 miles east of Howe.

The farm grew mushrooms for Campbell's Soup. The fire broke out around 8 p.m. and firefighters worked through the night to bring it under control.

Estimates say 40 fire units were called to the scene. A few of those brought water tanker trucks to the scene, since water was scarce.
