Don’t forget road closures begin Saturday for Three Rivers Festival

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The annual Three Rivers Festival is about a week away, and the Fort Wayne Police Department is preparing to close several streets in the downtown area as a result.

A number of streets will be closed from 6:30am to 1pm on Saturday, July 8th, as a result of the Opening Day Parade:

  • W. Wayne Street from Thieme to Fairfield
  • W. Main Street from Runnion to Lafayette
  • Van Buren Street from Superior to Washington
  • Fairfield Avenue from Superior to Wayne
  • Ewing Street from Main to Wayne
  • Harrison Street from Wayne to Main
  • Calhoun Street from Superior to Washington
  • Berry Street from Clinton to Fairfield
  • Superior Street from Clinton to Harrison
  • Barr Street from Main to Berry

Friday, July 7th, through Sunday, July 9th, E. Main will be closed from Clinton to Lafayette and Barr will be closed from Main to Berry for the Art in the Park event from 6pm to 11pm all three days.

The left curb lane of South Clinton Street by Headwaters Park from the MLK Bridge to Superior Street will be closed from 7pm Friday, July 7th to 11pm Saturday, July 15th.

East Main Street will be closed from Lafayette to Clinton Streets Wednesday, July 12th from 5pm to 9pm for the Bed Race.

And on Saturday, July 15th, Calhoun will be closed from Jefferson to Berry and Wayne will be closed from Harrison to Clinton from 4pm to 11pm for the Festival’s Fireworks celebration. Washington will also be closed from Clinton to Harrison from 10:15pm to 10:45pm.

Vehicles found parked in any of these areas during the closure times will be subject to ticketing and towing.
